Make a meaningful impact by supporting the growth and well-being of preschoolers as a contract Physical Therapist. This opportunity is available onsite in the Rochester area, specializing in services for preschool-aged students (3-5 years old). You’ll provide essential care to a caseload of approximately 25 to 30 children during a dynamic summer session as well as the initial months of the new school year.

Your role will focus on both direct therapy and proactive collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, helping students achieve developmental milestones and participate to their fullest in school activities. The assignment covers two key periods: a six-week summer program and coverage through the early fall, with potential for a slight extension.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Physical Therapist license for the state of New York
  • Prior experience working with preschool or early childhood populations (3-5 years old) in an educational or pediatric setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of school-based physical therapy principles and IEP processes
  • Ability to manage a consistent, organized caseload of up to 30 students
  • Effective communicator with teachers, staff, and families
  • Commitment to onsite presence for all scheduled hours

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and provide direct physical therapy services to preschool students
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with educators and other therapists to ensure holistic student support
  • Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with school and regulatory standards
  • Educate families and staff on strategies and exercises to support student progress
