Physical Therapist - School Setting in Canton, MI

This part-time contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with a manageable caseload of 10-15 students in an educational setting, supporting their development and helping them achieve their fullest potential. You’ll collaborate with educators, families, and other specialists to create and implement individualized therapy programs that truly make a difference.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Current and valid Physical Therapist (PT) license
• Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP process and related documentation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively with K-12 students

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive physical therapy assessments for students
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on student needs and goals
• Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings as required
• Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote student access and participation
• Provide training and support to school staff regarding best practices for student mobility and classroom adaptation

This contract offers a part-time schedule of approximately 8-10 hours per week, allowing for flexibility and maintaining a balanced lifestyle. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through mid-June, 2027—plenty of time to build strong connections with your students and see the impact of your expertise.
