This position focuses on two students, allowing you to make a significant and direct impact.
Key Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- Experience working in K-12 school settings strongly preferred
- Background in PT with pediatric or educational focus is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and other team members
- Ability to develop and monitor individualized therapy plans based on student needs
- Strong organizational skills for documentation and progress tracking
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct physical therapy services to assigned students according to their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students’ mobility, motor skills, and functional capabilities within the school setting
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to integrate therapy objectives into classroom routines
- Keep clear documentation of student progress and respond effectively to modifications in therapy plans as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary discussions regarding student care
- Offer recommendations for equipment, adaptive devices, or classroom modifications
