Step into a vital role supporting students near Carbondale, IL, by providing exceptional physical therapy services within a school environment. As a contract Physical Therapist, you'll work collaboratively with a skilled team, helping students reach their fullest potential.
This opportunity offers a flexible schedule of 1-2 days per week (8-16 hours, variable with your availability), spanning from August 2026 through May 2027. You'll take on a diverse caseload, partnering with another Physical Therapist and co-supervising two onsite Physical Therapist Assistants. Your work will directly impact student outcomes by conducting comprehensive IEPs, evaluations, and re-evaluations, all in a supportive and professional academic setting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Physical Therapy license in Illinois
- Experience with school-based or pediatric populations is preferred
- Skilled in completing assessments, IEPs, and delivering treatment plans
- Effective communicator, able to collaborate with educators, families, and therapy staff
- Strong organizational skills for managing documentation and caseload requirements
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations in accordance with each student’s IEP
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans for students
- Collaborate with academic and therapy teams to support student progress
- Supervise and guide two Physical Therapist Assistants, ensuring quality care is consistently delivered
- Maintain accurate records, write progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
