Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapist (PT) license in California
- Experience working in school or pediatric settings is highly valued
- Knowledge of IEP (Individualized Education Plan) processes
- Ability to assess, plan, and provide appropriate therapy interventions tailored to students’ individual needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and staff
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners in an inclusive environment
Typical Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct physical therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals
- Conduct motor skills assessments and recommend adaptive equipment as needed
- Develop individualized treatment plans and strategies to meet a wide range of student needs
- Document student progress clearly and in compliance with school and regulatory policies
- Serve as an active member of IEP teams, offering professional input for student plans
- Educate school staff and family members on ways to facilitate physical development and accessibility
