Physical Therapist - School Setting in Columbia, MD

A Physical Therapist (PT) opportunity is available in Columbia, MD, supporting a K-12 school setting. This full-time, contract position offers a dynamic caseload working with children and young adults ages 3-21 within the school system.

Location: Columbia, Maryland
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week, daytime hours with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Flextime scheduling available. Some early morning and evening consults and training required.
Duration: Contract for the current school year with Extended School Year (ESY) work during summer, continuing into the 2026/2027 school year on a 12-month calendar.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop treatment plans for children and young adults with various disabilities and sensory-motor challenges.
• Utilize knowledge of orthotics, wheelchairs, adaptive positioning, and assistive devices to support functional mobility.
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to deliver effective therapy aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Provide consultation and training during early morning and evening sessions as needed.
• Support the Extended School Year program during summer months.

Qualifications:

• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
• In-depth understanding of typical and atypical sensory-motor development and musculoskeletal function in children and young adults.
• Proficiency in evaluation and treatment techniques tailored to individuals ages 3-21 with multiple disabilities.
• Experience with orthotic devices, wheelchairs, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology appropriate to the pediatric population.
