A full-time Physical Therapist opportunity is available in Columbia, MD, working within a school setting to support students aged 3 to 21. This contract position involves providing specialized physical therapy services designed to promote sensory-motor development, musculoskeletal function, and mobility for children and young adults with multiple disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments tailored to individuals with diverse needs.
- Utilize expertise in orthotics, wheelchairs, adaptive positioning equipment, and assistive devices.
- Collaborate with educational and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
- Participate in early morning or evening consultations and training sessions as needed.
- Support students during the Extended School Year (ESY) program and continue services throughout the year on a 12-month calendar.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
- Strong knowledge of normal and abnormal sensory-motor development and musculoskeletal function/dysfunction.
- Experience working with children and young adults aged 3 to 21 with multiple disabilities.
- Familiarity with evaluative and treatment techniques appropriate for the school-aged population.
- Proficiency in managing orthotics, wheelchairs, and assistive technology tailored for pediatric clients.
Work Schedule and Location:
- Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week.
- Daytime hours with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break and some flexible scheduling options.
- Located in Columbia, MD, with responsibilities in a school environment.
