This dynamic role follows a 12-month calendar, including both traditional academic terms and a four-week Extended School Year program over the summer—ideal for those seeking consistent engagement with their students.

As a valued member of the educational team, you’ll collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary professionals to foster optimal outcomes for students with diverse physical needs. The schedule covers 35 daytime hours per week, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility for early morning or evening consultations and staff training. A daily 30-minute unpaid lunch offers a midday break. Flextime scheduling options provide additional work-life balance.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Active Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners license required
  • Profound understanding of sensory-motor development and musculoskeletal function/dysfunction in school-aged children
  • Expertise in evaluation and evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents with multiple disabilities (ages 3–21)
  • Thorough knowledge of orthotics, wheelchairs, adaptive positioning equipment, and assistive devices suitable for school settings
  • Commitment to collaborative, student-focused care

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to diverse student needs
  • Deliver individualized and group therapy guided by best practice standards
  • Consult with staff and participate in IEP meetings
  • Provide training for school personnel and families in use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulations and district guidelines
