Exciting opportunities are available this summer for dedicated Physical Therapists who thrive in dynamic educational settings. Step into a pivotal role supporting students and families as part of a collaborative school-based team. Two contract openings are offered, allowing you to choose the setting and schedule that best fit your passion and expertise:
- Extended School Year (ESY) Program (June 29 – July 30): Provide hands-on therapy in person, Monday through Thursday. ESY runs for five weeks, with hours at Special Education Schools from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, or at general education locations from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Participate in a focused professional development day on June 25 to kickstart your assignment.
- Infants and Toddlers Services and Assessments (June 22 – July 30): Focus on the youngest learners through services and assessments, working Monday through Thursday for up to 7 hours daily. No Fridays required.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Active Maryland Physical Therapy licensure (must present verification)
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Ability to obtain district-mandated clearances (House Bill 486 requirements, including fingerprinting and employment history review)
- Flexibility and adaptability with varying caseloads
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based therapy to students or infants/toddlers in accordance with individual education or intervention plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Communicate progress and collaborate with educators, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in professional development and comply with timelines for onboarding and credentialing
