Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapist license issued by the state of Rhode Island
- Previous experience working in schools or with pediatric populations highly preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and special education requirements
- Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and school staff
- Flexibility and adaptability in meeting diverse student needs
- Proficiency with relevant documentation and progress tracking
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine student needs and establish therapy goals
- Develop and deliver tailored physical therapy interventions in both individual and group settings within the school environment
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and interdisciplinary teams to support student outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise on accommodations and modifications
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation
- Educate and support school personnel on mobility, safe handling, and adaptive equipment usage
- Monitor and report progress, adjusting interventions as needed for optimal results
