Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapy license in Illinois
- Prior experience as a PT in school settings preferred, but enthusiastic pediatric PTs encouraged to apply
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with educators, families, and other therapists
- Understanding of IEP documentation, therapy planning, and student progress tracking
- Compassion for working with diverse student populations, including those with varying physical abilities
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create individualized therapy plans tailored to student needs
- Provide direct therapy services to students, integrating therapy goals into their educational environment
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other service providers to maximize student success
- Monitor, document, and report student progress, making adjustments as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate goals
- Educate school staff and parents on strategies to support students’ physical development throughout the day
