Key Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
- Proficient in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals related to physical therapy
- Ability to perform assessments and design treatment plans to address functional mobility, motor development, and access to educational environments
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, staff, and families
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability within varied school settings
Core Responsibilities:
- Screen, evaluate, and assess students to determine physical therapy needs
- Develop and implement individualized interventions that foster functional independence in the school environment
- Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services within classrooms, playgrounds, and other school settings
- Document and track student progress in accordance with school and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Educate school staff and families on strategies for supporting students’ mobility and participation
- Stay current with best practices and actively participate in ongoing professional development
