Physical Therapist - School Setting in Dearborn, MI

Key Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist
• Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
• Proficient in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals related to physical therapy
• Ability to perform assessments and design treatment plans to address functional mobility, motor development, and access to educational environments
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, staff, and families
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability within varied school settings

Core Responsibilities:

• Screen, evaluate, and assess students to determine physical therapy needs
• Develop and implement individualized interventions that foster functional independence in the school environment
• Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services within classrooms, playgrounds, and other school settings
• Document and track student progress in accordance with school and regulatory guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Educate school staff and families on strategies for supporting students’ mobility and participation
• Stay current with best practices and actively participate in ongoing professional development
