Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Illinois
  • Previous experience in a school setting or pediatric care required
  • Strong understanding of IEP process and goal development
  • Ability to assess, diagnose, and implement evidence-based treatment plans
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary staff
  • Adaptable and flexible, comfortable working with a range of ages and abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for students identified with mobility or physical challenges
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student needs and educational goals
  • Collaborate with special education teams to contribute to IEP meetings and documentation
  • Provide direct therapy services in accordance with school schedules and caseload requirements
  • Offer guidance and training to teachers and staff on adaptive equipment and classroom modifications
  • Maintain timely records and progress reports to track outcomes and inform caregivers
  • Support students’ participation in academic and extracurricular activities by recommending accommodations
