Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Illinois
- Previous experience in a school setting or pediatric care required
- Strong understanding of IEP process and goal development
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and implement evidence-based treatment plans
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary staff
- Adaptable and flexible, comfortable working with a range of ages and abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for students identified with mobility or physical challenges
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student needs and educational goals
- Collaborate with special education teams to contribute to IEP meetings and documentation
- Provide direct therapy services in accordance with school schedules and caseload requirements
- Offer guidance and training to teachers and staff on adaptive equipment and classroom modifications
- Maintain timely records and progress reports to track outcomes and inform caregivers
- Support students’ participation in academic and extracurricular activities by recommending accommodations
