An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated Physical Therapist seeking a dynamic, contract-based role in a supportive school setting near Du Quoin, IL. This position runs from August 2026 through May 2027 and offers a flexible schedule of one to two days per week (8-16 hours based on your availability), making it an ideal fit for professionals looking to balance other commitments while making a meaningful impact in students' lives.
In this rewarding role, you will play a vital part in student success. Primary responsibilities include conducting IEPs, evaluations, and re-evaluations and co-supervising two onsite Physical Therapist Assistants together with another experienced Physical Therapist. Your expertise will help shape and deliver individualized care, assisting students in improving mobility and maximizing their participation in educational activities.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Illinois (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
- Ability to efficiently manage documentation and IEP-related processes
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for successful cooperation with staff, students, and families
- Experience with the supervision of Physical Therapist Assistants considered an asset
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students referred for physical therapy services and develop, implement, and update IEP goals
- Perform individual and group interventions as appropriate to student needs
- Document progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with school and district protocols
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate student development
- Support and co-supervise Physical Therapist Assistants onsite
