Physical Therapist - School Setting in Durham, NC

Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity making a difference in students’ lives as a part-time physical therapist. Based in a supportive school setting near Durham, you’ll contribute to the development and well-being of K-12 students for the 2024-2025 academic year.

This in-person role runs August 5 through May 28, following the school calendar. You’ll handle a manageable caseload of seven students—details about their needs and classroom environments will be provided during your interview. Collaborate closely with educators, families, and other specialists to support each student’s individualized goals.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Physical Therapist license (or eligibility) in North Carolina
• Previous experience providing physical therapy in a school setting
• Comfort working across a broad K-12 age and ability spectrum
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Ability to collaborate with teaching teams and families
• Dedication to in-person service delivery (remote options are not available)

What You’ll Do:

• Assess and develop treatment plans for students with varying disabilities
• Deliver targeted physical therapy interventions as part of IEP teams
• Monitor student progress and document outcomes in accordance with school and regulatory guidelines
• Consult with classroom staff to adapt environments and support inclusion
• Participate in eligibility meetings, IEP planning, and progress reviews
• Keep parents and school staff informed of therapy goals and achievements
