School-Based Physical Therapist - Edison, NJ

Step into a rewarding school-based contract role supporting the physical therapy (PT) needs of students across multiple K-12 buildings in a dynamic district. This full-time opportunity spans the 2026-2027 academic year, running from September 4, 2026, through June 25, 2027, and offers a consistent weekday schedule from 8:30 AM to 3:15 PM.

In this essential role, you’ll collaborate with educators, families, and fellow specialists to deliver high-quality physical therapy services across the district’s schools. Your expertise will help students achieve their fullest potential, ensuring that each child receives tailored, developmentally appropriate interventions that make a direct impact on their educational journey.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Physical Therapist license in New Jersey
• Experience with pediatric or school-based populations preferred
• Ability to cover a district-wide assignment spanning multiple K-12 schools
• Capable of fulfilling all NJ employment requirements, including:
  • Recent TB test
  • Completed physical examination
  • Fingerprinting for both the agency and school district
• Comfortable with a virtual (Zoom) interview process
• Excellent communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive PT assessments and individualized therapy services
• Work with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to develop and implement IEP goals
• Support students’ gross motor skill development and functional mobility within the school setting
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports to chart student progress
• Manage a flexible, district-wide caseload and schedule across multiple sites
