A dynamic opportunity awaits for a skilled Physical Therapist to support students in an educational setting near Ellicott City, MD. This contract position is ideal for professionals passionate about making a positive impact on children and young adults with varying physical needs. The role spans a 12-month calendar, including participation in a four-week Extended School Year program during the summer, working with a diverse caseload of students ages 3-21.
This full-time position consists of 35 daytime hours each week, Monday through Friday, with a daily 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Flexible scheduling options are offered to accommodate early mornings and occasional evening consults or staff training. The specific caseload and student needs will be shared during the interview process, ensuring a clear understanding of the work environment and expectations.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and active Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners licensure
- Deep understanding of sensory-motor development, musculoskeletal functioning, and dysfunction in children and young adults
- Strong background in evaluation and treatment methods for individuals with multiple disabilities, ages 3-21
- Expertise in orthotics, wheelchairs, adaptive positioning equipment, and other assistive devices for school-age populations
- Experience in a school-based or healthcare setting serving young clients is highly valued
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Deliver direct physical therapy services to address students’ needs and support classroom participation
- Consult with educators and parents, providing recommendations and training on equipment and strategies
- Complete documentation in compliance with school and state requirements
