School-Based Physical Therapist - Ellsworth, Maine

Key Qualifications:

• Active state physical therapy license (or eligibility to obtain)
• Previous school-based or pediatric PT experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with teachers, staff, students, and families
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs
• Proficiency in accurate documentation and compliance with state/federal regulations
• Flexibility and adaptability in a changing school environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students to determine motor skill development and educationally relevant therapy needs
• Develop individualized treatment plans and participate in IEP/504 meetings
• Deliver direct and consultative PT services to students, both individually and in small groups
• Collaborate closely with educators, school staff, and families to facilitate integrated support
• Maintain thorough records of assessments, progress, and interventions
• Provide education and in-service training to staff as necessary
