Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Valid Physical Therapy license in the state of New York
- Previous experience as a Physical Therapist in school or pediatric settings strongly preferred
- Knowledge of IEP processes, goal development, and documentation requirements
- Strong communication abilities with students, staff, and families
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills in dynamic classroom situations
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on student needs and IEPs
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and other therapists to maximize student participation in both academic and functional school activities
- Conduct assessments to determine eligibility and needs, documenting progress and ongoing recommendations
- Offer consultation and training to staff and families regarding adaptations, assistive devices, and support strategies
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with school, state, and federal regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings and school-based team collaboration
