Take on a rewarding contract assignment working with preschool-aged children as a Physical Therapist in a dynamic educational environment. This role involves supporting a caseload of approximately 25 to 30 students, ages 3-5, during both an extended school year (ESY) program and through the start of the new school year. The assignment is structured to cover a 6-week summer session due to a maternity leave, along with the potential for an extension into the fall session. Your expertise will directly contribute to the developmental progress and wellbeing of young learners.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Physical Therapist (PT) license in New York State
  • Prior experience working in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic interventions for young children
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with educators and caregivers
  • Ability to assess, design, and implement individualized therapy plans for preschoolers
  • Flexibility to adapt to varied needs and schedules within the school environment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver onsite physical therapy services to preschool students ages 3-5
  • Evaluate, develop, and monitor treatment plans in alignment with educational goals
  • Document student progress and adjust plans based on ongoing assessments
  • Liaise with teaching staff and families to ensure a collaborative approach to therapy
  • Participate in school meetings regarding student progress and program planning
  • Maintain compliance with legal and ethical standards for school-based practice
