Physical Therapist - School Setting in Fort Myers, FL

Seeking a dedicated physical therapist passionate about supporting students across all grade levels! This full-time, school-based contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide essential therapy services throughout the academic year in the vibrant Fort Myers area. Enjoy a dynamic role as you serve multiple school sites, working directly with PreK-12 students to help them achieve their fullest physical potential.

Start making an impact with a schedule that runs from August 11, 2026, through May 27, 2027, working up to 37.5 hours per week. You’ll have the chance to collaborate closely with educators, families, and other professionals, using your expertise to tailor interventions and adapt school environments for diverse learners.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
• Current and active Physical Therapist license issued by the Florida Department of Health
• Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations is highly desirable
• Comfortable traveling between multiple campuses within the district
• Ability to manage varying caseloads and support students from PreK through high school
• Must complete a fingerprinting process through the AHCA Clearinghouse or verify existing prints; JLA badge required (can be transferred from other Florida districts)

Responsibilities:

• Deliver on-site physical therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs or 504 plans
• Assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy interventions
• Document progress, maintain compliance, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Educate staff and families on strategies to support students’ mobility and participation
• Adapt and modify educational environments or equipment as needed
