Step into a fulfilling contract assignment supporting young learners as a Physical Therapist in a vibrant educational setting. This onsite position provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact with preschool-aged children (ages 3-5), managing a caseload of approximately 25 to 30 students. The assignment begins during our extended summer program and continues into the initial months of the new school year, covering a colleague’s maternity leave with the possibility of a brief extension.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid license or eligibility to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York State
  • Demonstrated experience working with pediatric or early childhood populations, especially within school environments
  • Strong ability to assess, develop, and implement therapy plans tailored to preschoolers’ needs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, families, and support staff
  • Commitment to onsite service provision—teletherapy is not an option for this role

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted physical therapy interventions for students ages 3-5 within a school-based setting
  • Conduct evaluations, create individualized treatment plans, and report on students’ progress
  • Document all treatments, assessments, and communications in accordance with school and professional standards
  • Collaborate closely with educators, families, and related service providers to support each child’s progress toward developmental milestones
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a supportive and engaging learning environment

This role offers the chance to be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping young students build foundational skills. The assignment spans from July 6, 2026, through August 14, 2026 (Extended School Year), resuming September 8 through late October, with a potential extension into November for continued coverage.
