Qualifications:
- Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist
- Prior experience in school-based settings or with pediatric populations preferred
- Strong knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs) and adapting therapeutic plans accordingly
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to design activities that motivate and engage students of varying abilities
Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students to determine physical therapy needs and goals in alignment with each student’s IEP
- Develop, implement, and monitor effective therapy interventions to support student participation and independence
- Document student progress, maintain thorough records, and participate in IEP meetings as an active team member
- Consult with educators, caregivers, and staff to integrate therapy strategies into daily classroom routines
- Offer in-service training or support as needed to assist staff in implementing accommodations or mobility programs
- Provide ongoing feedback, adjusting therapeutic approaches based on student growth and changing needs
