This contract opportunity involves providing physical therapy services across two school sites, serving students ages 6 to 21. You'll play a vital role on an interdisciplinary team supporting learners with autism spectrum disorders, seizure and metabolic conditions, genetic syndromes, dual diagnoses, and those preparing for vocational transitions as they approach adulthood. With a strong behavioral foundation based on ABA principles, you will shape individualized plans that foster student mobility, independence, and participation in both academic and vocational settings.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop tailored physical therapy plans guided by each student's IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy and consultative support in a variety of school-based environments
- Collaborate closely with teachers, occupational and speech therapists, vocational staff, and families
- Promote students’ functional movement, safety awareness, and readiness for life skills and transitions
- Maintain clear and timely documentation in line with school and state guidelines
What You'll Bring:
- Active Connecticut Physical Therapy license (or eligibility to obtain before starting)
- Experience in pediatric or school-based therapy strongly preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
