Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
  • Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of pediatric physical therapy principles and best practices
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, staff, and families
  • Ability to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and commitment to fostering student success

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to determine students’ therapy needs and set measurable goals
  • Design and implement tailored physical therapy interventions for students with a range of abilities
  • Collaborate with faculty and interdisciplinary teams to integrate therapy strategies into daily routines
  • Maintain clear and detailed documentation of therapy sessions and progress notes in accordance with school policies
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing professional insights to support student plans
  • Educate staff, parents, and caregivers on supporting mobility and physical skills in various school settings
  • Support students in accessing their educational environment safely and effectively
