An exciting opportunity awaits a talented Physical Therapist fluent in both Spanish and English to provide dedicated, long-term support to a medically fragile, bed-bound middle school student in the Haverford, Pennsylvania area, just west of Philadelphia. This contract role offers the chance to truly make a difference by establishing strong relationships with the student and their family, and by contributing essential care within a team of experienced related service professionals.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Licensed Physical Therapist with current state credentials
- Experience in school-based or healthcare settings with pediatric populations
- Spanish/English bilingual fluency (strongly preferred); non-bilingual PTs will be considered—language support may be arranged
- Background supporting medically fragile and/or bed-bound individuals is highly desirable
- Ability to collaborate with occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, caregivers, and educational teams
- Excellent documentation, communication, and cultural competency skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized, evidence-based physical therapy to a single middle school student within a home or school environment
- Provide care alongside an OT and SLP as part of a holistic therapeutic approach, for 2.5 hours per week (with potential for additional hours)
- Adapt and modify interventions to meet the unique medical and mobility needs of the student
- Serve as a trusted, consistent presence for the student and family, fostering long-term engagement and progress
- Communicate effectively with families, including Spanish-speaking parents, and collaborate on treatment goals and updates
