Make a meaningful difference as a Physical Therapist supporting a medically fragile, bed-bound middle school student just outside Philadelphia. This part-time contract position centers on delivering high-quality, consistent care, with the goal of building a long-term therapeutic relationship spanning several years if mutually desired.
In this role, you'll collaborate with a dedicated team of related service providers (SLP, OT, PT) while partnering closely with the student and their family—whose primary language is Spanish. Prior experience working in healthcare, schools, and especially with medically complex or bed-bound students, will be highly valued. Bilingual Spanish/English therapists are strongly encouraged to apply. However, if you are a non-bilingual PT with a passion for pediatric care, your application will be welcomed, as interpretation support may be arranged if necessary.
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) with state credentials in Pennsylvania (or eligible)
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred; non-bilingual PTs will also be considered
- Experience in school settings and with medically fragile students preferred
- Strong commitment to consistency and relationship-building over multiple years
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver 2.5 hours of in-person PT services per week to a middle school student
- Assess, plan, and implement effective therapy strategies tailored to complex medical needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care
- Communicate effectively with non-English-speaking parents (Spanish or through interpreter)
- Provide detailed documentation of progress and participate in IEP meetings when required
This opportunity offers a unique chance to make a lasting, positive impact on a student’s educational and healthcare journey in a supportive school environment.
