Essential Qualifications:
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Virginia
- Previous experience working in K-12 educational settings or with pediatric populations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, staff, and families
- Ability to design and implement individualized physical therapy programs
- Experience documenting progress and goals in accordance with IEPs and school protocols
- Availability to work onsite (no remote/virtual options for this role)
Role Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ physical therapy needs within school environments
- Develop and execute treatment plans in alignment with IEP goals
- Collaborate with special education teams, educators, and caregivers to support student achievement
- Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and adjust interventions as necessary
- Provide clear reporting and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Educate staff and families on strategies to support students’ mobility and accessibility needs
