Your role involves providing direct therapy services for students who require compensatory hours, covering a total of 450 hours to be completed from ASAP through June 26, with the possibility to extend into the summer. You’ll consult with staff, document progress, and engage with families—all essential aspects of this school-based position.
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in New York State
- Experience working in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and familiarity with therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents
- Effective communicator, able to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Organized, flexible, and committed to providing high-quality care
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver purposeful physical therapy to K-12 students, ensuring IEP goals are addressed
- Complete and document compensatory sessions as required
- Regularly assess and report on student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
- Support students in achieving optimal participation and function within their educational environment
