Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric therapy environment highly valued
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, and school staff
- Knowledge of IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and the ability to contribute to planning and documentation
- Ability to assess, develop, and implement treatment plans tailored to individual student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct physical therapy services to students, adapting interventions to meet educational and developmental milestones
- Participate in the development, review, and execution of IEP goals as related to motor and mobility skills
- Maintain comprehensive, timely records and progress notes in accordance with school policies
- Educate staff and family members on techniques and strategies to generalize gains made during therapy sessions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams composed of teachers, specialists, and administrative staff to maximize student access and achievement
- Participate in school meetings and contribute to discussions around student accommodations and accessibility
