Desired Experience & Skills:
- New York Physical Therapist license (active and in good standing)
- Previous experience in school settings strongly preferred
- Knowledge of pediatric physical therapy and IEP processes
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, students, and families
- Ability to travel to the school site as required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct physical therapy to students with a variety of needs, supporting their functional mobility and access to curriculum
- Conduct assessments and help develop individualized treatment plans in cooperation with education professionals
- Document progress, maintain thorough records, and comply with school and legal requirements
- Educate teachers and families about strategies to reinforce therapy goals within the classroom and at home
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings, collaborating as part of the student support team
