Step into a rewarding contract role as a part-time Physical Therapist, supporting K-12 students during a maternity leave coverage from September 8, 2026, to either February 19 or 28, 2027. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to work three days a week (six hours per day), near Jersey City, NJ, providing specialized school-based physical therapy services across a diverse population of students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Physical Therapist license in New Jersey
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric healthcare setting strongly preferred
- Background working with students ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Solid communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other school professionals
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for students with varying abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations to assess student needs and eligibility for physical therapy services
- Implement targeted interventions to support students’ motor, mobility, and functional skills within the school environment
- Collaborate with teachers and IEP teams to integrate therapy goals into academic settings
- Track progress, maintain accurate documentation, and adjust treatment strategies as needed
- Provide guidance and education for staff and families to ensure continuity of care
- Advocate for accessible learning environments and appropriate accommodations
