Exciting opportunity available for a dedicated Physical Therapist to support students during a short-term assignment from August 17th through November 4th. This onsite contract role focuses on delivering educationally related physical therapy for a diverse caseload spanning mixed grade levels, with a significant emphasis on transition-aged students (20–22 years old). If you are passionate about helping students compensate for or overcome deficits in gross motor skills, your expertise will make a meaningful difference here.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Illinois Physical Therapist license required
- Demonstrated pediatric experience within a school setting
- Proven background providing physical therapy services in educational environments
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with staff and families
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct physical therapy interventions to special education students
- Assess and document students’ gross motor skills, creating and implementing individualized programs
- Collaborate with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote student success
- Support acquisition or compensation for deficits related to physical limitations
- Adapt strategies to address unique needs, primarily for transition-aged students
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports in line with school policies
