Make a direct impact in local schools by providing essential physical therapy services to students across elementary through transition programs. This in-person contract role requires travel among several school locations, supporting students’ physical independence and optimizing their participation in classroom activities. Full-time is preferred, but part-time applicants will also be considered. The academic year assignment begins August 24, 2026, and concludes June 7, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy (MPT/DPT)
  • Valid Illinois Physical Therapy License
  • Experience in school-based physical therapy settings preferred
  • Strong collaborative abilities for effective teamwork with educators, specialists, and clinical staff
  • Proficiency with documentation, goal setting, and progress monitoring

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver physical therapy services for a caseload of 35-45 students in a mix of self-contained and general education programs
  • Move between multiple school sites to provide coverage as needed
  • Conduct student evaluations, develop treatment plans, and implement therapy sessions tailored to individual needs
  • Instruct and support the educational team on mobility and positioning equipment
  • Maintain accurate daily documentation, write progress reports, update and track goals
  • Consult regularly with teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and nurses to promote student success and inclusion

Schedule & Structure:

  • Monday through Friday, with start times varying by school site (between 7:30 and 8:30am)
  • 37.5 billable hours per week anticipated
