School Physical Therapist | Joliet, Illinois

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity delivering impactful physical therapy services within a supportive educational environment. Immediate need for a professional with a passion for helping students achieve optimal physical independence and full participation in school activities. This assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through early June 2027, with flexibility to consider both full-time and part-time candidates.

Qualifications and Experience Desired:

• Valid Illinois Physical Therapy License and either MPT or DPT credentials
• Experience working with school-aged children, ideally in self-contained and general education settings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt to the schedules and needs of multiple campus locations

Key Responsibilities:

• Travel between multiple area schools (elementary through transition programs), delivering direct and consultative PT services
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations, develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans, and monitor student progress
• Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, nurses, and paraprofessionals to support the overall educational team and student outcomes
• Train school staff and students on correct use of positioning and mobility equipment
• Maintain detailed daily documentation, progress reports, and data related to therapy objectives and outcomes

Enjoy a dynamic weekday schedule, with start times tailored to school hours (between 7:30-8:30am), providing service to a caseload of 35-45 students across multiple schools in the Romeoville and Bolingbrook areas. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset to thrive in this multifaceted role.
