Physical Therapist - School Setting in Kalamazoo, MI

An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Physical Therapist eager to make a positive impact in an educational setting. This contract role starts as soon as possible and runs through June 4, 2027, offering the chance to support students’ physical development and well-being over multiple school years.

In this position, you’ll work either four or five days per week (7.5 hours each day), providing therapy to an engaging and varied caseload of approximately 35–40 students. While the primary age range spans birth to three and three to eighteen years old, there is flexibility to adjust caseloads if you hold a specialized area of expertise.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Michigan
• Previous experience or strong interest in working within educational or pediatric environments
• Familiarity with IEP processes and school-based documentation
• Ability to collaborate with families, caregivers, teachers, and other related service professionals
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Adaptability when working with diverse age groups and abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and assess students to determine eligibility and need for physical therapy interventions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students’ unique physical needs and goals
• Provide direct therapy services in classroom and individual settings
• Collaborate with staff and families to ensure consistent support and progress for each student
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning
• Serve as a resource for staff on best practices and adaptations for physical accessibility within the school environment
