Embark on a rewarding contract position as a Physical Therapist, working with a diverse group of students ranging from PreK through age 21. This opportunity begins August 13, 2026, and continues through May 28, 2026, with a strong potential for renewal. You’ll work approximately 20 hours per week throughout Hampshire County Schools, serving a total of 7 schools and managing a caseload of about 30 students.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Current licensure (or eligibility) as a Physical Therapist
- Experience serving school-aged children and young adults, especially within an educational environment
- Proficiency with assessments, goal-setting, intervention planning, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Compassion, flexibility, and a commitment to student-centered care
- Ability to coordinate services across multiple school sites
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services to students as determined by their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Assess and evaluate student needs, develop treatment plans, and track progress toward goals
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, special education staff, and other providers to support student participation and success
- Offer training and guidance to school staff on positioning, safety, adaptive equipment, and mobility
- Document all services and interactions according to school and regulatory guidelines
- Travel between multiple school sites, maintaining organized and efficient schedules
