Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active, valid Physical Therapist license in Maryland
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program (Master’s or Doctorate preferred)
  • Prior experience in a pediatric or school-based setting is strongly desired
  • Solid understanding of IEPs and experience working as part of a multidisciplinary education team
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Ability to motivate and connect with students of varying abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver physical therapy services to students with diverse needs, in accordance with their IEP goals and state regulations
  • Collaborate proactively with educators, parents, and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment
  • Assess students’ physical abilities and develop individualized intervention plans
  • Monitor ongoing progress, modify interventions as needed, and maintain comprehensive session notes
  • Attend IEP meetings and provide expert input on mobility, gross motor skills, and access to school programs
  • Offer staff consultations and training on adaptive strategies and classroom modifications to maximize student independence
