Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active, valid Physical Therapist license in Maryland
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program (Master’s or Doctorate preferred)
- Prior experience in a pediatric or school-based setting is strongly desired
- Solid understanding of IEPs and experience working as part of a multidisciplinary education team
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to motivate and connect with students of varying abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy services to students with diverse needs, in accordance with their IEP goals and state regulations
- Collaborate proactively with educators, parents, and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment
- Assess students’ physical abilities and develop individualized intervention plans
- Monitor ongoing progress, modify interventions as needed, and maintain comprehensive session notes
- Attend IEP meetings and provide expert input on mobility, gross motor skills, and access to school programs
- Offer staff consultations and training on adaptive strategies and classroom modifications to maximize student independence
