School-Based Physical Therapist - Louisa, Virginia

In this role, you’ll deliver individualized physical therapy services to a student with an active IEP, twice weekly. There’s also the potential to work with a second student anticipated to join the program soon. Your efforts will help students achieve their mobility, motor skills, and participation goals, directly impacting their growth in the classroom.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Physical Therapist license
• Previous experience working in a school environment or with pediatric populations
• Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt strategies to meet each student’s unique needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, one-on-one physical therapy services according to IEP requirements
• Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans and activities
• Collaborate with special education staff, teachers, and families to support student progress
• Participate in IEP meetings and prepare progress reports and recommendations
• Promote student independence and physical engagement within the school setting
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and compliance documentation
