School-Based Physical Therapist - Mechanicsville, Virginia

Qualifications and Experience Desired:

• Valid Physical Therapy license
• Previous experience working in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of IEP process and documentation
• Exceptional communication and organizational abilities
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles
• Current CPR certification is a plus

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of students referred for physical therapy services
• Develop and implement individualized intervention plans aligned with educational goals
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to support students’ needs in the classroom and school environment
• Document progress, maintain accurate and timely records, and participate in IEP meetings
• Instruct staff and caregivers in proper techniques to support students throughout the school day
• Provide direct therapeutic interventions and consultative support within the assigned school(s)
• Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in pediatric and school-based PT
