Key Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in Connecticut
- Prior experience working in school settings, preferably as a district-wide PT
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet diverse student needs
- Comfortable traveling between schools within the district
- Up-to-date CPR/First Aid certifications
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct physical therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs
- Complete evaluations, develop treatment plans, and document progress
- Serve students at multiple school locations within the district
- Consult with special education teams, teachers, and parents to maximize student engagement
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to student planning
- Offer training and support for staff on relevant physical therapy topics
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with district and state guidelines
