Key Qualifications:
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
- Prior experience in school-based OR healthcare PT/PTA settings
- Current registration and credentials in the state of New York
- Comfortable supporting students with a broad range of physical needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with teachers, staff, and families
- Reliable and organized, with the flexibility to adapt to a school schedule
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide physical therapy assessments and interventions for students, supporting their functional mobility and access to educational activities
- Collaborate with special education and general education staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Document evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with school or district guidelines
- Consult with families to support carryover of therapeutic strategies at home
- Maintain professional and ethical standards in all interactions
