School Physical Therapist | Newark, New Jersey

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students across multiple schools as a Physical Therapist. Based near Newark, NJ, this full-time position invites you to make a lasting impact throughout an entire academic year, helping students unlock their full physical potential and succeed in their educational journey.

You’ll work district wide, providing essential therapy services to a diverse student population from elementary through high school. Your week will total 35 hours, with regular weekday hours from 8:30 AM to 3:15 PM, fitting smoothly within the school schedule and enhancing your work-life balance. The assignment begins September 4, 2026, and runs through June 25, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

• Current New Jersey Physical Therapy license (required)
• Previous experience in schools or pediatrics highly valued
• Comfort working across multiple campuses with K-12 students
• Ability to meet all New Jersey requirements: TB test, physical exam, fingerprint clearance for both the agency and district
• Willingness to participate in a Zoom interview as part of the application process
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families

Responsibilities:

• Provide physical therapy services to students as determined by Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Develop and implement treatment plans specific to each student’s needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support academic and physical goals
• Travel between schools within the district to ensure accessible therapy for all students
• Maintain thorough, timely documentation and participate in relevant meetings
