Experience a rewarding opportunity working in a dynamic educational setting as a Physical Therapist supporting preschool-aged children. This contract role is based onsite and is crucial in enhancing the physical development of students ages 3-5. You'll be covering a maternity leave during the 6-week summer session and extending your impact through the first months of the new school year, with a caseload of approximately 25 to 30 students.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Physical Therapy license in New York State
  • Proven experience providing PT services in a school or pediatric setting
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate interventions
  • Comfortable working onsite and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Passion for making meaningful connections with young learners and supporting their physical growth

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored physical therapy sessions to preschoolers, both individually and in small groups
  • Conduct assessments to determine students’ motor function and physical needs
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligning with IEP goals
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and families to support each child's progress
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with educational standards
  • Adapt interventions to maximize accessibility and participation within the classroom setting
  • Support transitions and progress review throughout the ESY (summer) and NSY (fall) periods
