Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a physical therapist working with preschool students ages 3-5. This opportunity involves providing essential physical therapy support at a specialized educational center near Rochester, NY. You’ll play a crucial part in fostering motor development and independence for a caseload of approximately 25 to 30 children, supporting both Extended School Year (ESY) and New School Year (NSY) sessions. This is a contract position covering a maternity leave for a vibrant 6-week summer program, followed by continued coverage from September through October, with the potential for an extension into November.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Physical Therapist (PT) licensure in New York State
  • Experience working in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques for children ages 3-5
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to providing onsite services (remote/virtual work is not available for this assignment)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans
  • Deliver direct therapy sessions tailored to each preschool student’s needs
  • Monitor, document, and report student progress regularly
  • Consult with teachers, occupational therapists, and speech therapists to support each child’s educational goals
  • Educate parents and caregivers on supportive strategies for home and community environments
