Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapy license in Virginia, or eligibility to obtain.
- Previous experience with pediatric or school-based physical therapy preferred.
- Ability to evaluate, design, and implement therapy plans for students with diverse needs.
- Strong collaboration skills—comfortable working with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Adaptable and resourceful, with a commitment to inclusive, student-centered care.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ functional mobility and physical therapy needs within the school environment.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals.
- Provide therapy sessions and monitor progress, adjusting plans as needed.
- Educate school staff and families on exercise programs and adaptive techniques.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings.
- Uphold compliance with local, state, and federal requirements, ensuring best practices in therapy delivery.
