This role is perfect for a passionate Physical Therapist who is either bilingual in Spanish and English or comfortable collaborating with a language interpreter if needed. What You’ll Bring:
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist
- Experience working with pediatric or school-based populations
- Comfort or prior work with medically fragile and bed-bound students a strong plus
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is highly preferred, but non-bilingual applicants who are open to collaboration with an interpreter are encouraged to apply
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Commitment to consistency and fostering continuity of care
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver high-quality in-person physical therapy services to a single middle school student in need of individualized support
- Collaborate regularly with the student’s family and interdisciplinary team, including OT and SLP professionals
- Adapt therapeutic interventions to the unique needs of the student, ensuring both safety and comfort
- Maintain ongoing communication and goal-setting with caregivers, utilizing Spanish language skills when able (or an interpreter if provided)
- Document progress and adjust care plans in accordance with best practices for medically fragile students
- Work approximately 2.5 hours per week, with the potential for an increase in hours as relationships and programming grow
