This full-time role offers a dynamic schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with flex scheduling to accommodate both early morning and occasional evening consults and training sessions. The position follows a unique 12-month calendar, including participation during a 4-week Extended School Year program over the summer, providing year-round engagement with students and faculty.
Bring your expertise in pediatric physical therapy to a diverse caseload that will be further defined during the interview process. You’ll collaborate with educational teams and caregivers to develop individualized treatment plans and provide evaluative and therapeutic services for children and adolescents with a range of disabilities.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
- Deep understanding of typical and atypical sensory-motor development and musculoskeletal function.
- Proficient in evaluation and intervention techniques for students with multiple disabilities.
- Experience with orthotics, wheelchairs, adaptive positioning equipment, and assistive devices for young clients.
- Prior school-based or healthcare physical therapy experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and treat students to support their educational progress and mobility needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to implement effective therapy plans.
- Provide training and consultation to educational personnel and caregivers.
- Maintain documentation in compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate student progress.
