A fulfilling opportunity awaits for a dedicated Physical Therapist looking to make a meaningful impact within a school-based setting near Nottingham, MD. This full-time, contract role supports students aged 3-21 and follows a 12-month annual calendar—providing essential services during the school year as well as a four-week Extended School Year (ESY) program each summer. Working 35 daytime hours per week, Monday through Friday, this position also offers flextime scheduling, with occasional early morning and evening consults and staff training sessions to best meet student and family needs.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current and active licensure from the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
  • Strong understanding of sensory-motor development and musculoskeletal function/dysfunction, both normal and abnormal
  • Expertise in selecting and applying appropriate evaluative and treatment methods for children and young adults with multiple disabilities (ages 3-21)
  • Solid background working with orthotics, wheelchairs, adaptive positioning equipment, and a variety of assistive technology
  • Flexibility to work on a year-round schedule, including participation in ESY

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams to assess needs and implement effective therapy plans
  • Provide individualized and small group physical therapy services to help students access their educational environments
  • Document progress and maintain required records in compliance with Maryland and school policies
  • Participate in consultative sessions and trainings as scheduled
