Exciting opportunity for a dynamic pediatric physical therapist to support students throughout a highly collaborative, diverse school district near Oakland, CA. This contract position has a unique itinerant structure, providing services at multiple sites and the chance to work with a broad range of student needs. The assignment runs from August 11, 2026, to June 2, 2027, with a standard 37.5-hour workweek. You’ll enjoy both autonomy and teamwork, serving Early Childhood through Transition age groups, ensuring every student receives the specialized care they deserve.
Key Requirements & Qualifications:
- Current and valid California Physical Therapy (PT) license required
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in school-based pediatric physical therapy
- Ability to travel between school sites as needed across the district
- Flexibility and excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse student populations and multidisciplinary staff
- Comfortable managing small, distributed caseloads at up to a dozen school sites
- Robust documentation and case management abilities
- Strong commitment to inclusive education and empowering students with physical needs
- Previous experience in a school setting is highly preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services for students in accordance with their IEPs
- Travel to various assigned school sites (itinerant, on-site only)
- Engage collaboratively with educators, parents, and related service providers
- Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized therapy plans and monitor progress
- Maintain accurate, timely student records and documentation
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute to students’ educational planning
