Exciting opportunity for a dynamic pediatric physical therapist to support students throughout a highly collaborative, diverse school district near Oakland, CA. This contract position has a unique itinerant structure, providing services at multiple sites and the chance to work with a broad range of student needs. The assignment runs from August 11, 2026, to June 2, 2027, with a standard 37.5-hour workweek. You’ll enjoy both autonomy and teamwork, serving Early Childhood through Transition age groups, ensuring every student receives the specialized care they deserve.

Key Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Current and valid California Physical Therapy (PT) license required
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in school-based pediatric physical therapy
  • Ability to travel between school sites as needed across the district
  • Flexibility and excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse student populations and multidisciplinary staff
  • Comfortable managing small, distributed caseloads at up to a dozen school sites
  • Robust documentation and case management abilities
  • Strong commitment to inclusive education and empowering students with physical needs
  • Previous experience in a school setting is highly preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services for students in accordance with their IEPs
  • Travel to various assigned school sites (itinerant, on-site only)
  • Engage collaboratively with educators, parents, and related service providers
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized therapy plans and monitor progress
  • Maintain accurate, timely student records and documentation
  • Attend IEP meetings and contribute to students’ educational planning
