Qualifications:
- Valid Physical Therapist license
- Experience working with pediatric populations or within a school-based setting
- Background in designing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, educators, and families
- Ability to adapt interventions according to each student’s unique needs
- Familiarity with documentation requirements for school-based therapy
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students, focusing on improving functional skills in the school environment
- Assess, develop, and update IEP goals in partnership with interdisciplinary teams
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to support students’ access to curriculum and extracurricular activities
- Document therapy sessions, maintain accurate progress records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Offer recommendations for adaptive equipment, classroom modifications, and safe movement throughout the school
- Participate in staff training and promote awareness of mobility and movement strategies
