Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Physical Therapist (PT) license in Illinois, or eligibility to obtain
- Prior experience in a school-based, pediatric, or educational environment preferred
- Deep understanding of child development, sensory-motor integration, and physical therapy practices in school settings
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and educational staff
- Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Flexibility, organization, and commitment to fostering a positive student experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and therapy sessions for students as outlined in their individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, and other educational professionals to support students’ needs
- Maintain clear and compliant documentation of assessments, goals, and treatment progress
- Educate caregivers and school staff on therapeutic interventions and strategies for optimal student performance
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the multidisciplinary support team
- Adhere to all school district policies, best clinical practices, and ethical standards
