Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a part-time Physical Therapist supporting K-12 students on a maternity leave assignment. Located near Paterson, NJ, you’ll work three days a week for six hours each day, helping students reach their full potential throughout the 2026-2027 academic year from September 8 to February 19 or 28.
Your expertise in school-based physical therapy will empower students to thrive in their educational journey. Collaborate with a team of educators to design and deliver individualized programs that address a diverse range of physical needs and learning styles. As you guide students in developing mobility, strength, and confidence, your efforts will make a meaningful difference each day.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current Physical Therapist license in New Jersey (or eligibility)
- Proven experience with pediatric, K-12, or school-based physical therapy
- Familiarity with IEPs, direct and consultative PT services in an educational environment
- Ability to create engaging, goal-oriented treatment plans
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff and families
- Adaptable and organized with a supportive approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, evaluate, and deliver individualized PT services to students from kindergarten through high school
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and administrators on IEP teams
- Document progress, prepare reports, and participate in meetings as required
- Provide consultative support and assistive strategies for classroom staff
- Educate families and caregivers on home support programs and progress
