An exciting opportunity awaits passionate Physical Therapists seeking a rewarding contract role supporting PreK and elementary students for the 2026-2027 school year. This position will operate on a 4-day work week, with services provided two days in Albuquerque and two days in Santa Fe. Over the 10-month term, you’ll play a vital role in helping young learners maximize their mobility and physical development in a dynamic school environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Physical Therapy license in New Mexico (or eligibility for licensure)
- Previous experience working with pediatric populations, particularly in educational settings
- Strong understanding of school-based PT protocols and compliance requirements
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to travel between Albuquerque and Santa Fe for assigned days
- Clear communication and documentation abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative PT services to PreK and elementary students in accordance with IEP goals
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized therapy plans
- Maintain thorough records of student progress and session outcomes
- Work closely with teachers and school staff to integrate interventions into daily routines
- Engage families in supporting therapy objectives and generalizing skills to the home environment
- Travel between school locations according to the weekly schedule
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the evaluation process
