School Physical Therapist | Penn Yan, New York

This contract position focuses on providing skilled therapeutic services to a caseload of 25 to 30 preschoolers, ages 3 to 5, onsite during both an extended school year program and the beginning of the new school year. Your expertise will help young learners achieve developmental milestones and maximize their potential within a supportive, collaborative educational environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Physical Therapist license in New York State
• Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting, particularly with children ages 3-5
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and support staff
• Ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans
• Commitment to working onsite throughout the duration of the contract

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group physical therapy sessions to preschool students in accordance with prescribed IEPs
• Collaborate closely with educational teams to support functional mobility and participation in all school activities
• Engage in ongoing communication with families and provide resources or training as needed
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of student progress and compliance with all regulatory requirements
• Participate in team meetings, contribute to planning, and adapt interventions for continuous improvement

Position Details:

• ESY (Extended School Year) coverage: July 6, 2026 – August 14, 2026
• NSY (New School Year) coverage: September 8, 2026 – October 31, 2026 (with possible extension)
• Full-time schedule, 40 hours per week, onsite at the designated autism center location
