Embark on a rewarding contract assignment as a school-based Physical Therapist in a supportive educational environment. This opportunity involves working across several schools, delivering vital physical therapy services to students from elementary age through transition programs. Enjoy a dynamic week with a full-time preference (part-time applicants will also be considered), starting August 24, 2026, through June 7, 2027. The position offers a 37.5-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, with start times varying between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. depending on campus schedules.
What we’re seeking:
- Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy (MPT/DPT)
- Active Illinois Physical Therapy License
- Prior experience or strong interest in pediatrics, preferably in school settings
- Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to travel between sites in the Romeoville and Bolingbrook area
- Organizational skills to prioritize caseloads of 35-45 students in both self-contained and general education programs
Key responsibilities:
- Provide in-person physical therapy services to enhance students’ physical independence and participation
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations, treatment planning, and implementation
- Train staff and students on the use of positioning and mobility equipment
- Produce accurate daily documentation, progress reports, and comprehensive goal updates
- Collaborate closely with teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and nursing staff to create supportive and effective learning environments
